“Home health” covers a variety of services provided in the home.
Therapy. Physical and occupational therapists can help patients recover muscle strength and coordination, alleviate chronic pain and re-learn everyday activities after an illness or injury. Speech therapists can help victims of brain trauma to speak and eat normally.
Medicare Home Health Care benefit. Medicare will pay for some “non-custodial” care and services if the patient is homebound and under the supervision of a doctor. The benefit covers skilled medical care delivered in the home by an approved Medicare agency for treatment of an illness or injury.
